Five Speed Mazda Gearbox Conversion

We are pleased to offer this new 5 speed gearbox conversion kit based on the Mazda MX-5 gearbox. The conversion uses a brand new MX-5 gearbox, giving the MGA the slick gear change that has become synonymous with the MX-5, and a relaxed cruising 5^th gear.
The kit fits MGA's fitted with an MGB 1800 3 synchro (5 Main Bearing engine) with Banjo axle. The gearbox replaces the original non overdrive unit.

The kit is supplied with a fully assembled gearbox with a bespoke cast bell housing & casing designed to fit directly to the engine back plate. The bell housing flange has been designed to resemble the standard gearbox, preserving engine bay originality.

The conversion uses the standard 10 3/4" MGB flywheel & clutch cover and a new OE Mazda clutch plate is supplied with the kit. Installation does require the removal of existing gearbox mounts and the enlarging of the gearbox tunnel aperture. Please see instructions for details of modifications. Many of the components are preassembled to the gearbox and only require connections to the car.

Please Note: The gearbox is prefilled with SAE 75W-90 oil.
